The flat eye to eye polyester web sling — also known as the eye and eye webbing sling or single ply flat eye & eye lifting sling — is a lightweight, versatile lifting tool made from high-tenacity polyester flat woven webbing, with a reinforced soft eye at each end for quick, secure attachment to hooks, shackles and rigging hardware.

The flat webbing design evenly distributes the weight of the load, reducing stress on lifting points and protecting the load from damage. Its single ply construction keeps the sling light and flexible, while its smooth, soft surface resists abrasion and friction and conforms to the shape of the load for maximum stability and load-bearing capacity.

Available in various lengths and color-coded load capacities, with 7:1 safety factor and full traceability on every sling. A 2-ply structure is available when a higher WLL is required at the same width.

Flat eye to eye polyester web slings support three standard hitch configurations. Always apply the correct load factor when planning a lift.

WARNING: Always derate the WLL according to hitch type and angle. Choker angle must not exceed 120 deg. Never exceed the rated capacity.

8. Inspection, Care & Service Life

8.1 Pre-Use Visual Inspection (Every Lift)

• Examine the full webbing length and both eyes for cuts, tears, abrasion or broken stitching.

• Check for chemical attack indicators — discoloration, stiffening or surface flaking.

• Inspect for heat or friction damage — melting, glazing, charring or fused fibers.

• Verify the identification label is present, legible and matches the intended load and hitch.

• Confirm the eye loops are not stretched, deformed or frayed — discard if the shape is distorted.

8.2 Periodic Examination & Storage

• A competent person must carry out a detailed inspection at least every 6 months (or more frequently in harsh environments), with written records maintained.

• Store flat or hung on sling racks, in a cool, dry, ventilated area away from sunlight and chemicals.

• Clean with mild soap and clean water only — never use chemical solvents or abrasive methods.

• Do not drag slings over rough surfaces or sharp edges; use edge protectors when necessary.

• There is no fixed service life — discard is based on condition, not age, as determined by a competent person.
